In The News . . . . Zimmerman Attorney Expects Florida To Pay Some Of His Legal Bills

A lot of press was generated about George Zimmerman’s criminal case, where he was acquitted last month of the charge he murdered Trayvon Martin. Now, Mr. Zimmerman’s attorney Mark O’Mara has aired his view that Florida should pay all of Mr. Zimmerman’s estimated $2 millon in defense fees. As a start, Mr. O’Mara will be asking a judge to authorize the state to cover $200,000-$300,000 of his client’s court costs (which happens not to be all of them). Mr. O’Mara expects the state will dispute many of the fee bills and pay as little as $50,000 of them. This report is based on an Orlando Sentinel article.
