Attorney’s Fees In The News …. Sergeant Neil Harvey Obtains More Than $700,000 Award Of Attorney’s Fees

This Comes On Top of $1.2 Million Jury Verdict.

Newport Beach, California police Sergeant Neil Harvey sued for sexual discrimination in a case that has likely polarized the Newport Beach Police Department and generated lots of press coverage. He won a $1.2 million jury verdict in March 2009, stemming from his claim that he was denied promotions because of false rumors about his sexuality in an already homophobic environment, according to his lead attorney John Girardi, as reported in The Orange County Register.

Now, the trial judge in that case has also awarded Mr. Harvey additional attorney’s fees of $706,755.
