In The News . . . . Santa Ana Spent $36,545 To Defend Terms-Limit Suit On Behalf Of City Clerk

 

Dispute Involved Councilwoman Claudia Alvarez; Final Bill Exceeded $25,000 Estimate.

     As reported by Ron Gonzales in the September 20, 2012 edition of The Orange County Register, City of Santa Ana, in successfully defending its city clerk in a terms-limit dispute involving Councilwoman Claudia Alvarez, spent $36,545 on outside counsel. This was more than the $25,000 estimate to defend the suit. Santa Ana’s Council voted 4-2 to pay the bill. although some council members were not happy about the overage.
