In the News: Orange County Register Reports On 12 1/2 Year Rosendale Divorce Case

Says At Least $100,000 in Attorney’s Fees Expended During the Case.

The Orange County Register has an appropriately titled article “I Want A Divorce Eventually” (and later “Endless Divorce”) about the 12 1/2 year Warren and Carol Rosendale divorce case, where the former couple are still fighting over spousal support and whether Carol obtains attorney’s fees. The articles report that the battle has resulted in legal fees exceeding $100,000, exclusive of court costs. (Carol’s recently fired attorney Victor Luke said Carol owes him about $26,000 and she has only paid $5,000, although he told a reporter out of the court that the fees are more in the neighborhood of $60,000 but he will try to get what he can.) On October 12, 2012, a hearing will be held in family law court to decide lawyer fees for Mr. Luke and whether Carol is entitled to spousal support–she wants $100,000 per month. We are a little surprised that the attorney’s fees are just around $100,000.
