She Also Wants Another $500,000 for An Accountant.
Jamie and Frank McCourt (with Frank or Frank or Jamie being owner/owners of the L.A. Dodgers) have been in the news a lot lately. Jamie McCourt has hired well-known attorney Bert Fields, while Frank McCourt has retained equally well-known attorney Marshall Grossman as the divorce proceeding heats up.
Aside from seeking 50% ownership in the Dodgers and reinstatement as the team’s CEO (and of perks such as travel by private jet and use of the Dodgers owners’ suite), Jamie McCourt apparently has requested that Frank pay her estimated $2 million in attorney’s fees and $500,000 in accountant fees.
Mr. Fields has been quoted as saying that the divorce case “is going to be a battle.”
Sounds like a past episode from “Dynasty.”
For more details on this brewing “battle,” see Anthony McCartney and Greg Risling’s October 28, 2009 article “Jamie McCourt files for divorce from Dodgers owner,” available for reading at the Associated Press website hosted by Google.
