In The News: Hulk Hogan Likely To Sue Attorneys For Fee Billings In His Defense Of Personal Injury Case Arising Out Of Son’s Street Racing Fallout

Superhero Confronts Attorney’s Fees Issue.

It is not just normal folks that sometimes have issues with attorney’s fees . . . celebrities are not above the fray.

Hulk Hogan, whose real name is Terry Bollea, has claimed to have paid more than $1.5 million to a law firm defending him in a personal injury action arising out of his son’s street racing activities in downtown Clearwater, which resulted in injuries to son’s friend who was a passenger in the car at the time. Lawsuits proliferated, but Mr. Hogan claims that he learned way too late that his insurance company had offered to provide insurer-paid counsel. According to a recent newspaper article, the attorneys that he had paid never informed Mr. Hogan about the insurance company’s offer. Now, a legal malpractice action has been filed by Mr. Hogan against the attorneys, in a case that we will try to follow in the aftermath of this attorney’s fees donnybrook. Stay tuned, although Mr. Hogan’s adversaries in the case (his former attorneys) have denied the claims as being baseless in nature.
