Gifts, Thank You Notes, Flowers, and Concert Tickets No Substitute For Ms. Love’s Monetary Payments.

     Recent posts at TMZ and Rolling Stone tell us that Courtney Love is being sued in Los Angeles by Keith A. Fink & Associates for $466,029.41 in unpaid legal fees for 10 months of intensive work in 2009. She did send the firm gifts, thank you notes, flowers, and concert tickets.   Looks like the firm wants more money, rather than the nonmonetary gratuities.

Costco Awarded $397,000 In Attorney’s Fees For Prevailing in 8 Year Copyright Infringement Battle.

      The National Law Journal reports that C.D. Cal. U.S. District Judge Hatter recently awarded Costco Wholesale Corp. $397,000 in attorney’s fees spent in battling watchmaker Omega during an 8-year “gray market” infringement suit brought against Costco, based on a ruling that Omega’s actions constituted copyright misuse. The fee award was apparently made under 17 U.S.C. § 505.
