2014 Partner Compensation Up, But Gap Between Equity and Non-Equity Partners Is Large.
Major, Lindsey & Africa has published its 2014 Partner Compensation Survey of based upon a 4.9% response rate from 44,000 U.S. big law firm partners. It shows that average compensation for equity partners in 2014 was $716,000, up 5% from 2012 ($681,000). The average billing rate for equity partners in 2014 was $608 per hour, up 4% from 2014. However, it showed a huge gulf between compensation for equity and non-equity partners. The survey can be obtained free of charge over the Internet.

Target Delayed Paycheck Class Action Settles And Fees Approved …. With Some Interesting Reductions.
Recently, U.S. District Judge Yvonne Gonzalez Rogers (N.D. Cal.) approved the settlement of a class action for Target based on alleged delayed paycheck allegations. She also granted a reduced $93,435 fee request to class attorneys, but chastised them and made reductions for coffee and sushi dinner expenses.
