Settlement Will Be the Subject of an Upcoming Hearing.
As reported by Wendy Fry in a February 3, 2011 post in the online version of The San Diego Union-Tribune, the City of San Diego has agreed to settle a lawsuit over emergency dredging in the Tijuana River Valley by the nonprofit group San Diegans For Open Government. As a part of the settlement, San Diego agreed to pay $90,000 in attorney’s fees to the nonprofit group and to conduct an environmental review.
Apparently, a hearing on the fairness of the settlement will be conducted in the future before San Diego County Superior Court Judge Timothy Taylor, who co-contributor Mike had the pleasure of working with on some federal securities cases while he was a private practitioner during the mid-1990s.
