In the next couple of weeks (with apologies to David Letterman for expanding the numerical count), we will be providing you with a synopses of our “Top 20” Fee Decisions in 2009. We will limit this to only published decisions, and the numerical order will not signify importance in the least. There are also other important, useful decisions for 2009, but we limit to our discretionary choices. We also commend all the jurists in the decisions we have reviewed in 2009 (whether the opinions were published or not); generally, and by far and away, these decisions show a careful analysis of the particular fee/costs issues under review.
