In The News . . . . Hollywood Agent Is Seeking Fee Award Of Over $1.4 Million Against Former Assistant Losing Gender Discrimination Lawsuit

Former Assistant Says She Cannot Pay, in Pending L.A. Superior Court Proceedings.

As reported in a November 29, 2010 post on the on-line version of the Beverly Hills Courier, Heather Devlin, former assistant of Hollywood agent Todd Shemarya, lost a gender discrimination claim after a jury trial. Agent’s attorneys, claiming the suit was frivolous, are requesting Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Holly E. Kendig to order Ms. Devlin to pay agent more than $1.4 million in attorney’s fees. Ms. Devlin has filed a declaration saying she has been unemployed since March 2009 and cannot pay any such request. Agent’s attorneys want to see financial records to evaluate her claim, with a defense motion on the subject coming up for hearing on December 10.

Mr. Shemarya’s clients include “currents” and “exes” Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie, and Jennifer Aniston.
